Description
The authors present the findings of a project that used Lean methodology to achieve improved hospital-wide patient flow that alleviates bottlenecking of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers. The project was formed based on the work of the IHI on improving hospital-wide patient flow. In addition, the structure incorporated the AHRQ's IDEAL patient discharge framework. A key focus was the influence of COVID-19 on the discharge process.Learning Objectives
