The authors outline the history and current practice of palliative care education across health care disciplines. They present the findings from a pilot study that evaluated a course module on palliative and end-of-life care for speech-language pathologist graduate students. The positive outcomes from this study point to the need for training and education in palliative/end-of-life care in the curriculum.

Purpose of Activity

To gain knowledge about the current end-of-life care (EoLC) and palliative care training provided in the curricula for future speech language pathologists (SLPs), including barriers and rationale to implement future training.
