Description

This learning activity presents how to perform an advanced respiratory assessment and identify complex breath sounds. While there is some review of basic voice and breath sounds, the learner is encouraged to review the course Breath Sounds, Basic for more fundamental assessment information.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Describe the steps involved in respiratory assessment.
  2. Identify normal breath sounds and distinguish voice sounds.
  3. Differentiate advanced abnormal and adventitious breath sounds.

Learning Outcomes

By the conclusion of this activity, a majority of the participants will successfully complete the posttest to demonstrate improved knowledge about performing an advanced respiratory assessment.
