Description

Because of a rapid increase of violence and aggression in health care settings, knowledge of strategies to de-escalate aggressive and agitated patients is essential for health care staff. Use of de-escalation strategies can help to ensure the safety of health care staff as well as the safety of patients and their families. This learning activity discusses crisis management as it relates to a patient with escalating behaviors and provides strategies to manage a patient with escalating behaviors.
